I am guessing this is 3 and 4/5ths times 15

If this is the case we can convert 3 4/5 to an improper fraction by multiplying 3 times the bottom (denominator) number and adding it to the top (numerator) number

3 times 5 is 15

15 plus 4 is 19

19/5

we can also take 15 and make it a fraction by putting it over 1

Our problem can be written like this

19     15       285

---- x ----- = --------

 5        1          5

285/5 can be converted into a whole number as 5 goes into 285. . . 57 times

answer is either

285/5 or 57
