Did you mean like

4x^2+12x+9

you need to find a and b such that

ab=4*9=36  and  a+b=12

Here a=b=6  works

4x^2+6x+6x+9

=2x(2x+3) +3(2x+3)

=(2x+3)(2x+3)

=(2x+3)^2
