1) 7x = 5y

2) x + y = 180 or x = 180 - y

substitute eq(2) into eq(1):

7(180 - y) = 5y

1260 - 7y = 5y

1260 = 12y

y = 1260/12 = 105 degrees

using eq(2):

x = 180 - 105 = 75 degrees

check using eq(1):

7(75) = 5(105)

525 = 525

The smaller angle measures 75 degrees.

7x + 5x = 180

12 x      = 180

     x      = 15

The smaller angle measures 5x = 75 degrees.

as they  are complemeary angles ,

7x+5x=180

12x=180

x=15

den , 7*15 = 105

ad 5*15 = 75

so the meaure of the smaller angle is 75
