A delivery truck is transporting boxes of two sizes: large and small. The combined weight of a large box and a small box is 60 pounds. The truck is transporting 50 large boxes and 55 small boxes. If the truck is carrying a total of 3075 pounds in boxes, how much does each type of box weigh?

Let the weight of the large box be  x pounds then the weight of the small box would be  (60-x) pounds.

50x+55(60-x)=3075

50x+3300-55x=3075

-5x=3075-3300

-5x=-225

x=225/5=45

weight of large box=45 pounds

weight of small box=60-45=15 pounds
