How do you figure percentages?  Example:  There is a total of 130,749 sq.ft. in a building rental unit, and of that amount I have 23,516 sq.ft. that is unrented or  vacant sq. ft..  What is the percentage of vacant sq.ft.?

Please show me how to figure it.

23516 is what percent of 130749?

"is" means =

"what" means x

"percent" means /100

"of" means *

23516 = x/100 * 130749

23516 = x * 1307.49

x = 23516 / 1307.49

x = about 17.99

Answer:  23516 is about 17.99% of 130749.
