7*(3x - 5) = 2x + 1/2

7 × (3x) + 7 × (- 5) = 2x + 1/2

21x - 35 = 2x + 1/2

Now you can add 35 to both sides of the equation:

21x - 35 + 35 = 2x + 1/2 + 35

21x = 2x + 1/2 + 35

Now you can subtract 2x from both sides of the equation:

21x - 2x = 2x - 2x + 1/2 + 35

19x = 1/2 + 35

Now you can multiply both sides of the equation by 2 to get rid of the fraction:

(19x)×2 = (1/2)×2 + 35×2

38x = 1 + 70 = 71

Now you can divid both sides of the equation by 38 to get 'x' on it's own:

(38x)/38 = 71/38

x = 71/38                                This is the final answer. smiley
