So,  

4 2/3 + 5 1/5 = 14/3 + 30/5

Now we need to put this all over the same denominator:

14/3 + 30/5 = (14x5)/(3x5) + (30x3)/(5x3) = 70/15 + 90/15 = (70 + 90) / 15 = 160/15
