2/3 of 12 =8

2/3 X 12/1=

2       12

     X          =

3     1

2      4

     X                      =       8

1      1

First make 12 a fraction by putting it over the number 1.

Then take the lowest number that can be divide into 3 & 12 equally which would be 3.

3 divided into 3 = 1  & 3 divided into 12 = 4.

Making the fractions 2/1 X 4/1.  Then mutilpy the two fractions. 2x4=8  and 1x1=1.

Giving you the fraction of 8/1  which is 8.  Therefore, 2/3 of 12 is 8.
