How do you find the y intercept in an exponential growth or decay problem?

I don't know how to find the y intercept in growth or decay problems. The specific problem i am doing says y=1/2(2)^x so could u show me how to figure out the y intercept in this equation so i will know how to do it for the rest? thankyou so much :)

 y=1/2(2)^x  set x = 0

y = 1/2*1

y = 1/2 that is the y-intercept. 

to find x-intercept set y = 0

0 = 1/2(2^x)

0 = 2^x  there is a limit in this case.  2^x never gets to 0 it approachs it only.
