Let L is the length and W is the width of the rectangle. It will be L = W + 2 (1)  we know that 2L + 2W = 16 cm (2)  substituting to (2) where L = W+2 we get 2W+4+2W = 16  -->>>  4W+4=16 deviding by 4 both sides

we get W+1=4  and  W=4-1=3  putting this value of W to (1)  we get  L=3+2=5

check  2L+2w = 2*5+2*3= 10+6 = 16
