Not sure what you mean by answer.

2L +2W =P is a formula for the perimeter of a rectangle

2L=P-2W

L=(P-2W)/2 puts the length on a side by itself.

If you were given a perimeter =40 and the width=7, the

L =(40-2(7) / 2 =26/2=13 is the length
