x^4 - 35x^2 - 36 = 0

( x^2 + 1 ) ( x^2 - 36 ) = 0

( x^2 + 1 ) ( x^2 - 6^2 ) = 0

( x^2 + 1 )(x + 6)(x - 6 ) = 0

x = 6 and x = - 6
