7 - 8 < 4x

-1 < 4x

-1 ÷ 4 < 4x ÷ 4

-1/4 < x

x < -1/4

On the next-to-last line, you show x is GREATER THAN -1/4
On the last line, you show x is LESS THAN -1/4.
YOU CAN'T DO THAT! The two statements conflict. They are opposites!
