Problem: 2x +2/3 =4/5
how do you solve it
2x + 2/3 = 4/5
2x + 2/3 - 2/3 = 4/5 - 2/3
2x = 4/5 - 2/3
To simplify, eliminate the fractions by multiplying
everything by (3 * 5), 15.
2x = 4/5 - 2/3
15* 2x = (4/5 - 2/3) * 15
30x = 12 - 10
30x = 2
30x/30 = 2/30
x = 1/15
The other way to do it is to change the fractions
to a common denominator. It just happens to be 15.
2x = 4/5 - 2/3
2x = 12/15 - 10/15
2x = 2/15
2x/2 = (2/15)/2
x = 1/15
