Problem: what is the answer to 7 3/4 + 1 5/16 +4 7/32?
7 3/4 + 1 5/16 +4 7/32=

You MUST make sure that all fractions have a common denominator
when you are adding or subtracting. In this problem that would be 32.

7 3/4 + 1 5/16 + 4 7/32=
7 24/32 + 1 10/32 + 4 7/32=
12 41/32

Take 32/32 out of the fraction and add that 1 to the 12.

13 9/32
