if 1+4=5, 2+5=12, 3+6=21, what does 8+11=

The pattern I'm seeing, and I'm guessing here, involves an implied multiplication.

What I get for the sequence is this,

1+1*4 = 5

2 + 2*5 = 12

3 + 3*6 = 21

4 + 4*7 = 32

...

8 + 8*11 = 96

1+4=5

now add 5 to the second equation

5+2+5=12

similarly add 12 to the third equation

12+3+6=21

add 21 to the fourth equation

21+8+11=40

This adding the result of the first sum gives us the answer of the second
