solve x2-8x +12=0 using factorisation

x^2 - 8x + 12 = 0

factors of 12 are 2 and 6, and together they add up to 8.

Use this info to factorise the qudratic eqn.

(x - 2)(x - 6) = 0

Therefore x = 2, or x = 6

x^2-8x+12=0

x^2-6x-2x+12=0

x (x-6)-2 (x-6)=0

(x-6)(x-2)=0

There fore x=2 or 6
