2|2x - 2| < 20

since the 2 is outside the absolute value, divide it out.

|2x - 2| < 10

there are two answers!  I always teach that you should consider the positive and negative of the other side of the inequality.  Remember the only rule for inequalities is if you multiply or divide by a negative number the direction of the sign changes.

2x - 2 < 10      or           2x - 2 > -10

2x < 5             or           2x > -5

x < 5/2            or             x > -5/2
