solve for x. 2/3x=5/8
i do not understand this equation.

The equation is saying that 2/3 of some number is 5/8.
We identify the unknown number as x. We need to find
out what x is.

2/3 x = 5/8

Multiplying by 3/2 will eliminate the fraction on the
left side. Multipy BOTH sides of the equation. When
multiplying fractions, multiply the numerators to get
the new numerator, and multiply the denominators to
get the new denominator.

3/2 * (2/3 x) = 5/8 * 3/2
x = 15/16
