Problem: 1.5x-0.7=0.7x+0.9
addition principle of equility

1.5x - 0.7 = 0.7x + 0.9
1.5x - 0.7 - 0.7x = 0.7x + 0.9 - 0.7x
1.5x - 0.7 - 0.7x = 0.7x + 0.9 - 0.7x
0.8x - 0.7 = 0.9
0.8x - 0.7 + 0.7 = 0.9 + 0.7
0.8x = 1.6
0.8x/0.8 = 1.6/0.8
x = 2
