11x + 6 = 7x + 22

First you can subtract both sides of the equation by 6, this gives

11x + 6 - 6 = 7x + 22 - 6

11x = 7x + 16

Then subtract 7x from both sides,

So, 11x - 7x = 7x + 16 - 7x

4x = 16

Then divide both sides of the equation by 4 so that you can get 'x' on its own,

4x/4 = 16/4

x = 4
