Problem: how to solve for n in y=n^2-n-30
how would you solve

This can be factored very easily.

y = n^2 - n - 30
y = (n - 6)(n + 5)

Set each factor to zero to solve for n.

n - 6 = 0
n = 6

n + 5 = 0
n = -5

Graphing this, labeling the x-axis as the n-axis,
you would have a parabola that crosses the n-axis
at (-5, 0) and (6, 0)
