took a quiz yesterday and cannot figure out how to solve for this problem. I think the answer is -4 but i don't know how to actually solve for x.

x= -4/3. multiply both sides by 2. so you get, x=2(x+2), so x=4x+4. then subtract x from both sides, so 0=3x+4. subtract 4 from both sides, so -4=3x. then divede by 3 on both sides so x= -4/3.
