well i needed to write this out...

9=-4x+19

first you subtract 19 from 9 so it's...

-10=-4x

then you divide -10 by -4 so then it becomes...

2.5=x then check it...does it make sense?

9=-4(2.5)+19

9=-10+19

9=9
