The standard form of a line:
y - Ya = M(x - Xa)
x,y are the variables.
(Xa,Ya) are a point on the line.
M is the slope of the line.
for example: give the standard form of the line through the point (1,3) and has a slope of 6.
Xa = 1, Ya = 3, M = 6
y - 3 = 6(x - 1)
y - 3 = 6x - 6
y = 6x - 3
