4x-3(x+5)=16-7(x+1)
4x+(-3x-15)=16+(-7x+-7)
x-15=9-7x
-24=-8x
x=3

second step is incorrect
4x-3(x+5)=16-7(x+1)
4x+(-3x-15)=16+(-7x+-7)
x-15=9-7x
-24=-8x
x=3
