A circle is incrisbed in square ABCD . If AB=6cm. find the area of the shaded region in cm2?

As I remember problems of this type, they are asking for the area of the square OUTSIDE of
the inscribed circle.

The area of the square is 6cm * 6cm = 36cm^2

The area of the circle is the radius, 3cm, squared times pi.
3^2 * 3.141592 = 28.274328cm^2

36cm^2 - 28.274328cm^2 = 7.725672cm^2
