First, find the factors for each side:

(2 x X x X x X x X x X x X x X) - (2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x X)

Then find what they have in common and pull it out:

(2 x X)

Then take it out from both sides, put it outside the equation, and that's what gets factored out:

(2X)(X^6 - 64)
by
=2x(x^6-64) =

2x(x^3-8)(x^3+8) =

2x(x-2)(x^2 +2x+4)(x+2)(x^2-2x+4)

using the formula for the difference and sum of two cubes
