what is the quadratic formula
i am not really sure what category it is from but i need the quadratic formula my homework for math is due in five minutes \

The quadratic formula is used to solve the general equation y = ax^2 + bx + c when y = 0. The graph
of the equation is assumed to be a parabola, opening either upward or downward, crossing the x axis
at two points. If the vertex merely touches the x axis, there is only one solution to the formula. If the
parabola doesn't cross the x axis at all, there are no real solutions.
