Find four consecutive even integers so that the sum of the first three is 2 more than twice the fourth.

the four consecutive even  integers would be:

x, x+2, x+4,and  x+6

Now, sum of the first three is 2 more than twice the fourth.

(x)+(x+2)+(x+4) -2 = 2(x+6)

3x +4 = 2x +12

3x -2x = 12 - 4

x = 8

the four consecutive even integers would be:

8, 10, 12, and 14

check

sum of the first three is 2 more than twice the fourth.

8+10+12 -2 = 2*14

28 = 28
