Turner is reading a 400 page book. He reads 4 pages every 5 minutes. The # of pages Turner has left to read after x minutes is represented by the function,

f(x) = 400 - 4/5x.

Graph this function and find its intercepts.

For the x - int. I don't know what it is.

For the y- int. I got (0,400)

for the x-intercept, let y = 0

so 0 = 400 - 4/5x

subtract 400 from both sides

-400 = -4/5x

multiply both sides by -5/4

x = 500

your y - intercept is correct

Thank you!

This section in my class is a bit hard when it comes to fractions using intercepts.
