Dan and Al bought baseball cards. Dan bought 15 baseball cards. Al bought 12 baseball cards and a pack of gum for $0.99.  Al of the baseball cards are the same price and the boys spent the same amount of money.   How do I write and equation to represent this situation?

15x -12x=0.99

3x=0.99

x=0.99/3

x=0.33

The equation will be
12x+0.99=15x
15x-12x=0.99
3x=0.99
x=0.33
