This equation can be simplified so it makes much more sence:
8x-3x-x-x=8+2
x(8-3-1-1)=8+2=10
x(8-3-1-1)=10
(8-3-1-1) = (8-(3+1+1)) = (8 - (4)) = (8 - 4) = 4
x(8-3-1-1)=10
x(4)=10
4x = 10

We can simplify the equation further by finding a common multiple.
4 and 10 are multiples or 2
4/2 = 2
10/2 = 5
So we divide both sides by 2
4x/2 = 10/2
2x = 5

We need to isolate x by itself; divide both sides by 2
2x = 5
2x/2 = 5/2
(2/2)x = 5/2
(2/2) = 1
(1)x = 5/2
x = 5/2
