if P= perimeter and L = length and W = width then we can write the equation for this problem as follows:

 

L=2W+1

P=50

50= 2W + 1 + 2W+1 + W + W

50=6W + 2

48 = 6W

W = 8

L= 2 X 8 + 1

Area is just length times breadth (not that you will use it here).
