(9.77 + Q) is the denominator for the left side of the equation. The right side of the equation does not have a denominator.

therefore to eliminate the denominator on the left side, you will have to multiply both sides of the equations by the denominator (9.77 + Q).

(9.77 + Q) (62.7 +19.9Q) = 12.4 (9.77 + Q)

                  (9.77 + Q)

on the left side, both 9.77 + Q cancelled out to1, leaving 62.7+19.9Q

on the right side, use distributive property to multiply 12.4(9.77 + Q) which is 121.148 + 12.4Q

the new equation is 62.7+19.9Q  = 121.148 + 12.4Q

next, combine like terms. move the smaller variable to the larger one.

since + 12.4Q is positive, you have to perform the opposite operation on both sides in order to move it.

so subtract (- 12.4Q) on both sides.

the new equation is 62.7+7.5Q  = 121.148

next, combine like terms again. move  62.7 over to 121.148

since 62.7 is positive, you have to perform the opposite operation again on both sides

so subtract (- 62.7 ) on both sides

the new equation is 7.5Q  = 58.448

7.5 and Q are multiplied together. therefore the opposite operation of multiplication is division.

so you will have to divide 7.5 on both sides of the equations in order to get Q by itself or seperate Q

7.5Q  = 58.448

7.5        7.5

on the left side both 7.5 cancelled out each other to 1, leaving Q.

on the right side, after dividing the result is 7.79

therefore the solution to the equation is Q = 7.79

hope you were able to follow the steps so you can practice the next questions on your own. have a productive day.
