1 Answer

-(5/4y + 20) + 2 = 4/y + 5

becomes -5/4y - 20 + 2 = 4/y + 5

combine like terms on the left

-5/4y - 18 = 4/y + 5

multiply by y

-5/4 - 18y = 4 + 5y

subtract 5y from both sides

-23y - 5/4 = 4

add 5/4 to both sides

-23y = 21/4

divide both sides by -23

y = - 21/92
