4x-3(5x-8) = 23 - 9(x+2)

distribute -3 on the left nd -9 on the right

4x - 15x +24 = 23 - 9x - 18   combine like terms on both sides

-11x + 24 = 5 - 9x     add 9x to both sides

-2x + 24 = 5    subtract 24 from both sides

-2x = -19     divide both sides by -2

x=19/2 =9 1/2
