67 5/12 - 60 8/9 find the common denominator which is 36

67 15/36 - 60 32/36 then borrow from the 67 ( whatever your denominator is is the number you use ex 36/36 = 1) so reduce the 67 by one which will be 66 then add the one to the numerator

now you have the problem 66 15/36+36/36 = 66 51/36

                                                                               - 60 32/36

                                                                               --------------

                                                                                  6 19/36 inches taller than daughter
