(.5X - 2) / 17 + 4 = 11

  

I need help solving this. I used the first method that I was taught years ago in school, get an answer I think is correct and the answer is not in the choices. I then use the method the program uses in the previous "solving tips" with the same style questions to help solve and those solving tips are incorrect this time.

[(0.5x -2) / 17]+4=11

become (0.5x-2)/17=11 -4....=7

(0.5x-2)=7*17=119

0.5x=119+2=121

x=2*121

x=242
