Essay, show all work. Step by step. Consider that the ago x of a unicorn in human equivalent years can be given by the formula f(x) = 0.001518x^4 + 0.097326x^3 - 1.2367x^2 + 10.46x + 2.914. When a unicorn is 2.5 years old. What is its age in human equivalent years? What about when it is 12 years old?

f(x) = 0.001518x^4 + 0.097326x^3 - 1.2367x^2 + 10.46x + 2.914

you have to plug 2.5 in for x

then 12 in for x

find f(2.5) = .001518*2.5^4 + .097326*2.5^3 - 1.2367*2.5^2 + 10.46 * 2.5 + 2.914

f(2.5) = .001518 * 39.0625 + .097326 * 15.625 - 1.2367 * 6.25 + 10.46 * 2.5 + 2.914

f(2.5) = .059 + 1.521 - 7.729 + 26.15 + 2.914

f(2.5) = 22.915 years human

FInd f(12):

f(12) = .001518 * 12^4 + .097326 * 12^3 - 1.2367 * 12^2 + 10.46 * 12 + 2.914

f(12) = .001518 * 20736 + .097326 * 1728 - 1.2367 * 144 + 10.46 * 12 + 2.914

f(12) = 31.477 + 168.179 - 178.0848 + 125.52 + 2.914

f(12) = 150.0052 human years
