1...x+8y=54

2...8x-12y=120 or 2x-3y=30...3y=2x-30...y=(2/3)x-10

line 1...x+8*[(2/3)x-10]=54

x+(16/3)x-80=54....x+(16/3)x=80+54=134

3x+16x=3*134=402

19x=402

x=402/19=25.125

y=(2/3)x-10...=(2/3)*25.125 -10...=16.75-10

y=6.75
