How do I fingure out the percentage of an increased rate?

If I was paying 177.00 and have been inceased to 228.00...what percentage have I increased?

228 - 177 = 51

51 / 177 * 100 = 28.8135593220339%

to check 177 + 28.8% = 227.976

 

Most likely rounded to 29% which would give you 228.33 then rounded down to 228
