what is the substitution method of y=x+2

You need a second equation. Right now, you have y in terms of x.
You need to substitute that into another equation, in place of the y
in that other equation, and solve for the value of x. Then, you can use
that value of x to solve for the value of y.

An example would be something like 7x + 3y = 15. Substituting the
value of y from the first equation would give you 7x + 3(x + 2) = 15.
Following through with that, 7x + 3x + 6 = 15.....10x + 6 = 15....10x = 9....
x = 9/10.   Now, you plug that into the first equation to find the value of y.

Until you have a second equation, you can't do anything.
