(1/6) ( (3/4)x - 2 ) = 1/5

distribute the 1/6:

(1/6)(3/4)x - (1/6)2 = 1/5

(3/24)x - 1/3 = 1/5

(1/8)x - 1/3 = 1/5

add 1/3 to both sides

(1/8)x = 1/5 + 1/3

(1/8)x = 3/15 + 5/15

(1/8)x = 8/15

multiply both sides by 8

x = 64/15
