3y^2+12y−21/3y

What do you want done with this one?

.

5(4x−6+x^3)+5x(9−2x^2)

What do you want done with this one?  Expand it?

20x - 30 + 5x^3 + 45x - 10x^3

-5x^3 + 65x - 30

.

3x − 5 = 3 + 5x

What do you want done with this one?  Solve for x?

3x - 5x - 5 = 3 + 5x - 5x

-2x - 5 = 3

-2x - 5 + 5 = 3 + 5

-2x = 8

-2x/(-2) = 8/(-2)

x = -4

.

2(x − 9) = 6 + x/2

What do you want done with this one?  Solve for x?

2x - 18 = 6 + x/2

multiply everything by 2 on both sides

4x - 36 = 6 + x

3x - 36 = 6

3x = 42

x = 14
