I misread it sorry!

Remember PEMDAS parathesis,

then exponentials,

multiplication/division left to right,

and addition/subtraction left to right.

12 * 3 - (-6) =   first parenthesis

36 + 6 =           next multiplication

42                     finally subtraction

how come 8-14 is 22?
36-(-6)=36+6=42

=36-(-6)

=36+6
