Mark a point on line segment AB such that AP:PB = 2:3.
--A--------------------B--

You are stating that one segment has two units of measure and the other has three units.
Taken together, the line has five units. Starting from A, measure 2/5 of the way toward B
and place your mark there. From that point to B will be 3 units.
