ok so: You have 7 from 16. Meaning  you have x from 10. So with a simple analogue you get:  16x= (7)(10) => x= 70/16=> x =  4.375 which means 7/16>0.875

It's quite simple

7/16 is less than a half and 0.875 is more than a half so obviously 0.875 is the bigger number
