Question: WHat is the base of a triangle with only the height and hypoyenuse data given?

Height of triangle is h = 44.5 mm

Hypotenuse of triangle is P = 70 mm

Using Pythagoras' Theorem, the base of the triangle is given by

b = sqrt(P^2 - h^2)

b =sqrt(70^2 - 44.5^2) = sqrt(4900 - 1980.25) = sqrt(2919.75) = 54.0347 mm

Answer: b = 54 mm
