8/10=0.8 much bigger than

8/400=0.02

Sometimes, the problem involves THINKING, instead of actually performing the arithmetic.

One fraction involves dividing 8 into 10 pieces. The other fraction involves dividing 8 into 400 pieces.

It should be obvious that dividing ANYTHING into more and more pieces will make each piece smaller.

Logic alone says that 8/10 is larger than 8/400. No time wasted doing the math.
